Come and join us @ The Ballarat Trading Co from 6pm for the first night of fun and frolics of Gay Ski Week QT 2012. Enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne from Veuve Clicquot on arrival as well as a few nibbles from The Ballarat Trading Co. More FM will be there to report about all the exciting things that will be happening throughout the evening.

Sit down food will also be available, at an extra cost, for those that would like a little more to eat.

‘A Rocky Horror Night!’

SUNDAY 26TH AUGUST 2012 – from 8.15pm (pick ups from 7pm)

Come and join us @ Dorothy Browns Boutique Cinema in stunning Arrowtown from 8.15pm for a fun and entertaining night of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

There is a compulsory fancy dress code and everyone will receive an audience participation pack on entry to the film.

Return transport is also included from your accommodation. Please book your seat on the bus to confirm your spot. Pick ups will start from 7pm.

Dorothy Browns will be open from 8.15pm with the film starting at 8.45pm.

Wine Down Central Otago Winery Tour

MONDAY 27TH AUGUST 2012 – from 9am

Come and join us for a day of unbelievable tastings. Wine Down will be hosting a very special wine tour during DNA Gay Ski Week QT. The day includes comfortable return transport that will take you off the beaten track to let you taste wines that tourists don’t usually get to try! You will meet the people behind the wines, meet the winemakers, have a delicious wild food lunch at a stunning location as well as take in all the dramatic scenery around the beautiful wine region of Central Otago.

Hotel pick ups will start from 9am with your first stop being at the cellars of Mt Edward Wines. You will then meet the girls from Desert Heart and their wonderful wines in Bannockburn. Lunch will take place at Wild Earth. Wild foods, wild wines and a wild place! After lunch you will have a vineyard and winery tour with Grant Taylor of the exclusive Valli Wines.

Wine Down Consumer Evening

Want to taste local, NZ and international wines? Want to meet the people who make them? Well, the Wine Down Consumer Tasting is the event for you! Wine Down will be hosting a very special local evening during DNA Gay Ski Week QT.

You can taste, learn, experience and buy. It’s unintimidating, fun and inspirational. There’s a great selection of wine producers with an array of wines for you to try. You can walk around tasting, talking and buying from wineries of your choice. We can even ship straight to your door, whether in New Zealand or overseas.

The evening also features 3 Master Classes. These classes focus on regions, wine styles and top labels to increase your knowledge and inspire your passion for wine (Master classes are extra and spaces limited). More information on the classes will be available nearer the time.

Fantastic food from QRC Catering is also on sale throughout the evening.

Broken Shed ‘Casino Royale’ Gala Evening

WEDNESDAY 29TH AUGUST 2012 – from 7pm

Come and join us @ The Skyline from 7pm for the glamorous Casino Royale, black tie/dress Gala evening. Enjoy a complimentary glass of Nautilus bubbles on arrival at the bottom of the gondola. You will then be whisked up to 450m above Queenstown and to the Wakatipu room that has the most spectacular views of the surrounding area.

There will be a full sit down buffet for you on your arrival whilst being musically entertained by The LA Social Club. There will also be ‘mock’ casino tables for you to play throughout the evening as well as a cash bar for you to get your favourite drink, whether it is a Martini (shaken not stirred) or a glass of Champagne.

Come and join us @ The Dux de Lux from 9pm for the penultimate night of DNA Gay Ski Week QT 2012. This is a wonderful venue to catch up with all of your new and old friends. A slightly more relaxed atmosphere than the final dance party so that you can still enjoy your final day up the mountain.

DJ Adam Love (Sydney) will bring his fantastic vibe and selection of music for all of you to enjoy!

Queen of the Whole Universe is a show based on a beauty pageant but it is definitely a pageant with a difference! Most of the cast are boys dressed as ‘girls’, the 45 plus contestants represent 40 countries and other obscure places, and all with one mission to receive the coveted crown at the end of the night.

QWU© Mega celebrates the 8^th year and the 10^th and last performance. The show has been labeled by some as the most successful gay and lesbian theatrical event to be held in New Zealand. Since the shows inception in 2004, QWU© has raised over $170,000 for HIV/AIDS causes in New Zealand while entertaining audiences from all over New Zealand and Overseas in what has become a truly must-see-event in Auckland and Wellington.

The 2012 show will deliver many new surprises and a few highlights from previous years that appealed to the enthusiastic audience. QWU© Mega will explode in a mass of sequin, feathers, boas, stilettos and wigs on stage at the ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre, Auckland on Saturday 21 July 2012.

Instructions: Coming from Kapiro Road turn into Redcliffs Road …..

Follow Redcliffs Road Road for approx. 2 km. Then you see a yellow sign 35 km (it is the second 35 sign one on your way)Here you must go straight ahead onto the gravel. Do not follow the sharp curve.

Follow that Gravel road for roughly 500 meters. Shortly after you are able to see the ocean when you come around the corner you see on your right a Light Blue and Creamy coloured Gate which is illuminated at night.

Press 2 on the unit (M. Hauck & K. van Eyk) Press the button several times to make sure we hear it.

Please go straight up the driveway. DO NOT TURN RIGHT AFTER THE GATE.

There is plenty of parking place in front of the house and in the drive way.

Blending a celebration of condom use as well as supporting diversity is the raison d’être of the Get it On! Big Gay Out. More details are coming soon, including the entertainment line-up, so watch this space!

The PRIDE festival is first and foremost all about having fun, our community being able to laugh at itself, sharing, being more open minded and a wee bit educational in a light hearted way.

Don’t be frightened by our Drag Queens, they are all kind hearted. The Queens will be there to host, entertain plus look “fabulous”. Many a costume change throughout the day.

We plan to have the day filled with performance on stage, competitions, and activities to keep the young one’s entertained. Face painting, best dressed fairies / princesses and a best dressed pet competition

The New Zealand AIDS Foundation are supporting the event with their “Get It On” campaign promoting safe sex. The PRIDE festival is based loosely on the “Big Gay Out” event held in Auckland each February.

The day festival will end around 5.00pm. However, the celebrations will continue into the early hours of the following morning with a Dance Party in town, DJ and drag show performances. For those “young at heart”, a second venue will provide a quieter space.

The Bay of Plenty PRIDE Festival committee are organizing the event, and are inviting expressions of interest from stall holders, food stands, entertainers, buskers and other community organizations.
